Job summary

The Arc of San Diego is hiring a Landscaping Crew Lead to supervise and train participants in group supported employment. You will direct landscaping tasks, ensure quality and safety, and provide ongoing coaching to help participants develop job and social skills at the job site.

Based in San Diego, you will support adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and work with a dedicated team to meet employer expectations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
• Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record; able and willing to transport participants.
• Experience in landscaping services including heavy machinery (riding mower, chainsaw, trimmer).

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and complete landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging and minor irrigation.
• Ensure completion of work tasks per employer and procedures.
• Provide ongoing training to participants throughout the workday.
• Collect and record data on participants' goals.
• Communicate effectively with employer and coworkers at the site.
• Demonstrate exemplary work behaviors at all times.

Job description

We are currently hiring a Landscaping Crew Lead to join our team. The Crew Leader, provides support and training to participants working in group supported employment. The role completes landscape tasks as part of a daily work load, and ensures quality and quantity of all work completed meet employer expectations. The role utilizes standard training techniques to teach participants to perform grounds maintenance tasks according to guidelines established by the Supervisor and employer. In addition, the Crew Leader provides training and support to participants to improve social, personal, and other work-related skills.

Location: MCRD

Pay: The pay for this position is $21.52 to $21.52.

Schedule: Mon- Fri 7a-3p

A typical day will include:

• Providing direction and completing landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging and minor irrigation.

• Providing on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed.
• Collecting and recording data on participant’s goals as required.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site.
• Emulating exemplary work behaviors at all times.

What you’ll need to be successful:
