Job summary

The Arc of San Diego is hiring a Landscaping Crew Lead at Miramar. This role leads landscape tasks and provides training to participants in group supported employment, ensuring quality and safety across mowing, trimming, edging, and irrigation activities.

The position emphasizes teaching, teamwork, and working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, with a Mon-Fri 7a-3p schedule and a pay rate of $21.52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping services including with heavy machinery.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record; able and willing to transport participants.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and complete landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging and minor irrigation.
• Ensure completion of work tasks as required by the employer and/or established procedures.
• Provide on-going training to participants throughout the workday as needed.
• Collect data on participants’ goals as required.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with employer and other employees at the work site.
• Emulate exemplary work behaviors at all times.

We are currently hiring a Landscaping Crew Lead to join our team. The Crew Leader, provides support and training to participants working in group supported employment. The role completes landscape tasks as part of a daily work load, and ensures quality and quantity of all work completed meet employer expectations. The role utilizes standard training techniques to teach participants to perform grounds maintenance tasks according to guidelines established by the Supervisor and employer. In addition, the Crew Leader provides training and support to participants to improve social, personal, and other work-related skills.

Location: Miramar
Pay: The pay for this position is $21.52 to $21.52.
Schedule: Mon- Fri 7a-3p

Requirements

• Experience in landscaping services including with heavy machinery (riding mower, chainsaw, trimmer)
• HS Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
• Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record; able and willing to transport participants
