General Dynamics - IT (GDIT) is seeking a Software Developer SME for the MCCO Tool Developer program to support MARFORCYBER at Ft. Meade, MD.

You will drive the full software development lifecycle, design architectures, and prototype tools used by Marine Corps cyber teams and USCYBERCOM. Bring 10+ years of software development experience, active TS/SCI with CI Poly, and proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, and Assembly.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly required.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Git.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong background in software architecture, modeling, and configuration management.
  • Secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Work Location: Onsite in Ft. Meade, MD.
  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Preferred: Experience developing cyberspace capabilities (implants, exploits, tradecraft, and TTPs).
  • Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and microservices design.
  • Knowledge of USCYBERCOM mission systems and MARFORCYBER operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the full software development lifecycle for cutting‑edge cyberspace capabilities that directly support Marine Corps cyber missions.
  • Shape project vision, scope, and timelines to deliver high‑impact technical solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize mission requirements that guide development.
  • Identify risks early, assess vulnerabilities, and engineer secure, resilient solutions.
  • Design detailed system architectures, models, and prototypes that bring cyber capabilities to life.
  • Build, test, and refine software across multiple programming languages in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
  • Architect solutions using modern approaches including microservices, monolithics, and event‑driven designs.
  • Write clean, well‑documented code that supports long‑term scalability and maintainability.
  • Manage configurations and version control with industry‑standard tools like Git.
  • Lead quality assurance with rigorous unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
  • Implement secure coding practices, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with strict cybersecurity standards.
  • Create and refine operational scripts that directly support cyberspace operations.
  • Integrate capabilities with USCYBERCOM’s common services to ensure interoperability across the joint cyber mission.
  • Contribute to the development of cyberspace tradecraft and TTPs that strengthen MARFORCYBER’s operational advantage.

It’s a hands‑on, mission‑driven role where you’ll design and prototype solutions used directly by Marine Corps cyber teams and U.S. Cyber Command.

Our Software Developer SME must have:

Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly

Experience: 10+ years of experience in software development, with demonstrated expertise across the full lifecycle.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, C++, and Assembly.

Experience with development tools including Visual Studio and Git.

Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Strong background in software architecture, modeling, and configuration management.

Secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment experience.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree; Master's Degree preferred

Work Location: Onsite in Ft. Meade, MD

US Citizenship Required
