Job summary

General Dynamics - IT seeks a Software Developer to support the development of systems and capabilities centered on our motion imagery software suite. You will upgrade to cutting-edge technologies while ensuring mission success, at a site near Tysons Corner.

Required are a BS in Engineering (or related) with 5+ years of relevant experience, and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance. You will work with Java/C++ across microservices, containers, and data engines in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant experience (or 9 years related experience).
• Experience with TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience with microservice API development and integration.
• Proficiency in deploying micro and macro services.
• Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support systems and capabilities centered on motion imagery software.
• Upgrade to cutting-edge technologies in FMV programs.
• Create and manage orchestration templates and container deployments.
• Applications range from Java to C++ with priority by customer needs.
• Manage messaging engines and high-availability clusters (Kafka, etc.).
• Collaborate using Agile processes, JIRA, and cross-functional teams.

HOW SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

By using the following general language skillsets:Java (AOP, IOC)Javascript, React/Redux, AngularJSSQL, NoSQL, GraphC++And applying the general required concepts:Experienced in Microservice API development and integration (gRPC/REST)Deploy micro and macro services in NodeJS or JBossManage communication endpoints in gRPC or RESTREST based service level integration, API negotiation, Threading and Load BalancingHeavily use ETL concepts and engines to decouple solutionsCreating and maintaining orchestration templates, modifying templates provided from unclassified teams into classified spaceGraphDB, SQL and NoSQL data modeling / visualization / queryingMS SQL Server, OmniSci, Accumulo/Hadoop preferredReactive application development in a web browser –Write and manage large applications in React/Redux, rxJS, Reactive StreamsManage and bug triage legacy applications in AngularJSDebug and troubleshoot applications in customer spaceApplications range from Java to C++ at priority determined by customerLeverage messaging engines and HA clustersKafka streams/ KsqlDBUse and manage containers and orchestration such as: Docker/KubernetesCreating containers, deploying containers, managing container orchestrationManaging scalability of deployed software products
