Job summary

The Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for Academic Coordinator I to support the Master of Bioprocess Engineering (MBPE) program. This 9‑month intensive program prepares graduates for bioprocess roles in industry.

Responsibilities include admin and cohort management, student advising, career coaching, industry engagement, curriculum support with the Industrial Advisory Board, and program governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent at time of application.
• Experience in academic administration or program coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program Administration & Cohort Management: support day-to-day operations, recruitment, onboarding for MBPE cohort 25–35.
• Student Advising & Mentorship: academic and career advising for MBPE students
• Career Placement & Coaching: lead career coaching and internships/placements
• Academic & Industry Engagement: organize industry events, career fairs, lectures, site visits
• Strategic Partnerships: identify collaborations to grow MBPE and CBE networks
• Curriculum & Advisory Support: assist Executive Director with program content and IAB coordination
• Program Governance: participate in planning, reviews, and reporting with governing bodies
• Teaching: potential to teach one lecture course per spring/fall, with Lecturer appointment alongside
