Job summary

Maverick Boat Group Inc is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) assistant to ensure compliance and daily operations according to training and SOPs. Responsibilities include managing hazardous waste, verifying labeling, and tracking solvent usage.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, willingness to obtain hazmat training, forklift experience preferred, and the ability to follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Dump waste into compactor and dumpsters.
  • Manage the Hazardous Waste and Materials area.
  • Distribute and track usage of non-hazardous solvents.
  • Distribute chemical labels to departments.
  • Conduct weekly Hazardous Waste area inspections.
  • Fill Lamination department equipment with catalyst daily.
  • Puncture and dispose of aerosol cans per regulations.
  • Participate in Forklift, Safety, and Catalyst Training.
  • Supervise safe curing of lamination materials and resin deliveries.
  • Schedule and prepare empty drums for recycling every 1–3 days.
  • Maintain storm drains and a clean work environment.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies.
  • Keep hazmat logs up to date.

Position Summary:To achieve EHS compliance and perform daily functions according to training and SOP’sResponsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:Dump waste and garbage hoppers into compactor and dumpsters.Manage the Hazardous Waste and Materials area.Distribute and track usage of non-hazardous solvents.Distribute secondary chemical labels as needed to all departments.Conduct weekly inspections of Hazardous Waste area.Complete paperwork including Daily Forklift InspectionsFill Lamination department equipment with catalyst daily.Puncture & dispose of aerosol cans per regulations and training.Participate in Forklift Training, Safety Training, and Catalyst Training.Participate in Hazardous Waste, RCRA, and DOT Training as required by law.Supervise safe curing of lamination materials as needed for safety.Supervise resin deliveries.Follow SOP’s for waste handling.Schedule and prepare empty drums for recycling every 1-3 days.Maintain storm drains.Maintain a clean work environment.Follow safety rules.Adhere to company policies.Perform task in allotted time.Efficient with materials to minimize waste.Maintain hazmat logs.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
