Job summary

Republic Manufacturing is seeking a Mazak CNC Machinist to support daily manufacturing goals in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Duties include setting up machines, loading tools, submitting first articles to Quality, and documenting non-conformances.

Candidates should read engineering drawings, hold tight tolerances, and work with minimal supervision. Experience with Mazatrol or similar conversational programming is a plus.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings is required.
• Must be able to hold tight tolerances on complex parts.
• Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

POSITION OVERVIEW Republic Manufacturing is seeking a Mazak CNC Machinist. The Machinist supports daily manufacturing work schedules, meeting all goals of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions):Set-up machines to produce in conformance parts to existing programs. Including gathering/loading of machine tools and inspection tools.Submit First article to Quality. Make adjustments as needed.Clearly communicate and document non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.Complete all required documentation.Follow all ISO standards.Other duties and projects as assigned.Maintains a clean work environment including daily cleaning of floors and machinery within the assigned work area.Self-sufficient on start-up and shutdown equipment procedures including re-starts after minor stoppages.Performs operator PM of machinery including required lubrication & maintaining proper oil & coolant levels.Demonstrates ability to perform setup and operate machine in safe & efficient manner.Changes cutting tools & performs minor tooling adjustments and program offsets.Performs necessary quality checks of parts including the effective use of calipers, micrometers, and functional gauges.Recommends measures to improve productivity and quality of products to increase efficiency.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and does so with minimal supervision.Experience with Mazatrol or similar conversational programming is a big plus. Programming not required but programming knowledge is helpful.Performs own setups and runs pre-programmed and established jobs to meet demand.Works closely with team leader and team members to achieve necessary work requirementsMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.Attention to detail, able to hold tight tolerances, and make complex parts.Ability to supervise multiple machine processes at a time while setting up or running other machines.Understand and properly use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, travel indicators, plug and ring gages. (Digital, Vernier, Analog)Self-motivated, ability to work well with subordinates and leaders.Multi-task, work with a sense of urgency, meet tight deadlines, and work overtime as required.High School Diploma or equivalent, or trade schooling.Preferred 8 years CNC Setup/Programming Experience preferredPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
