Job summary

The Hawaiian Electric Summer Internship Program offers a hands-on experience in Substation Engineering on Maui. Interns are assigned a mentor and work on an objective-based project, with cross-functional activities to learn about life as part of the Hawaiian Electric 'ohana.

Applicants must be currently enrolled students in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, maintain good academic standing, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be able to attend Fall 2027.

• Must be in good academic standing
• Must be attending school Fall 2027
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Studying in the area of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Responsibilities

• Interns will be assigned an individual mentor and work closely on an objective-based project.
• Interns will research and execute the assigned project and participate in cross-functional activities to learn about life as part of Hawaiian Electric's ’ohana.
• At the end of the summer internship, interns present their project deliverables in an open forum with management.
