Job summary

Hawaiian Electric offers a Summer Internship program for current students to work on professional-level projects with a dedicated mentor. Interns will address objective-based tasks, gain hands-on experience, and participate in cross-functional activities to learn more about careers within Hawaiian Electric.

The program culminates with a forum presentation of project deliverables. Applicants must be enrolled as a student in Electrical Engineering, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be available Fall 2027;

Qualifications

• Current, active student at a post-secondary school
• Must be in good academic standing
• Must be attending school Fall 2027
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Must be studying a degree in the area of Electrical Engineering
• For Summer 2027, applications from students with an expected graduation date December 2027 or later will be considered

Responsibilities

• Work on a research and objective-based project under a dedicated mentor.
• Participate in cross-functional activities to learn about life as part of Hawaiian Electric 'ohana.
• Present project deliverables in an open forum at the end of the session
