Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Maui (Wailea, HI) seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team, drive strategic planning, and ensure high standards of quality and safety. The role focuses on budgeting, project execution, and cross-department collaboration to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities include supervising site activities, enforcing SOPs, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining equipment efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum leadership experience overseeing teams and projects.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Experience with budget preparation and financial management.

Responsibilities

Oversee all site activities and projects, manage personnel and set SOPs.
Escalate major issues to executive management within 24 hours.
Maintain logs, optimize time management, and ensure safety compliance.
Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and contractors.
Manage site budgets; obtain approval for outside vendor work from the property manager.
Conduct periodic site inspections and manage inventory/equipment usage.
Troubleshoot maintenance, mechanical, and electrical issues; address hazards promptly.
Train security personnel on fire alarms, building security, sprinklers, lighting outages.
Monitor cooling towers, chillers, pumps, and all mechanical equipment; support on-call emergencies.
Review and approve account status reports; enforce HR disciplinary actions when needed.
