Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, seeks an Equipment Operator for Matting Solutions in Texas. You will perform day-to-day operation of heavy equipment, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to project timelines on large construction sites.

Travel and overtime are expected; you will work in varying weather and environments, with a focus on communication with site personnel and accurate logging of equipment usage and inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 1–3 years experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large projects.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards in construction and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Willingness to travel and work extensive overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks with required documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and ensure equipment is safely stored.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and emphasize safety.
• Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Understand ground signals and coordinate with ground crew.
