Job summary

The Donum Estate in Sonoma, CA seeks a Matre’d/Greeter to welcome guests, host tasting experiences, and educate visitors about our wines and story. Position Overview

The Donum Estate is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Matre’d/Greeter to join our team. Reporting directly to the Hospitality Manager. This person will be the greeter (Matre’d) and, at times when needed, have the ability to be a wine educator- hosting tasting lounge. Weekends and holidays are required. A key role with Donum, our hosts serves to educate our guests, share our unique story and invite our guests to purchase wines and join our membership program. Assists in greeting guests upon arrival and, when called upon, hosting them throughout their wine experience. The Hospitality Associate is responsible for all aspects of the guest experience, from set-up to breakdown of the necessary experience.

  • Greet and welcome guests to The Donum Estate. Manage all seating and arrival on Tock Reservation system as guest are arriving at the Donum Home.
  • Guest Experience - Host our guests for an educational and memorable visit to our estate. Our hosts create memories through storytelling and educate through sharing their knowledge of our winemaking and viticulture techniques.
  • Guest Engagement - Our hosts strive to create and cultivate meaningful relationships with our members and guests with genuine interaction that is approachable and friendly.
  • Membership and wine sales - Hosts are evaluated on wine sales, membership sign-ups and Donum’s core behaviors of Belief, Teamwork and Excellence.
  • Create and maintain a guest-oriented environment focused on building guest relationships and loyalty.
  • Well-versed and passionate about wine and art. Seeks to attain knowledge ranging from the wine industry, farming, production and art. Deploys that knowledge to build rapport and educate our guests and members.
  • Input orders and maintain guest notes accurately and in a timely fashion through our CRM.
  • Have a clear understanding of The Donum Estate - wine, vineyards and winegrowing, art, community, and values.

  • Valid Driver’s License to drive RTVs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
  • The majority of the work is indoors and outdoors, including summer and winter. Able to stand and walk throughout the day.
  • Will frequently interact with winery colleagues, external service providers and vendors

Competitive salary.

Salary Range
  • $20-$30 per hour depending on experience.
