Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher earned academic degree.
• Licensed by Massachusetts as a Mathematics Teacher (Algebra/Geometry, grades 8–12).
• Knowledge of Mathematics curriculum in secondary education.
• SEI endorsement required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Principal, Supervisors and directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and the pedagogy it requires by engaging students in learning experiences that enable them to acquire complex knowledge and skills in the subject.
• Demonstrates knowledge of developmental levels of students and provides differentiated learning experiences to enable all students to progress toward meeting intended outcomes.
• Develops well-structured lessons with measurable objectives and appropriate student engagement strategies, pacing, sequence, activities, materials, resources, and grouping.
• Designs units of instruction with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks requiring higher-order thinking skills.
• Designs and administers informal and formal assessments to measure student learning and progress.
• Organizes and analyzes assessment results to determine progress and adjust practice and interventions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Massachusetts MAT licensure (Algebra/Geometry, 8–12)
