Job summary

The Los Rios Community College District invites applications for a full-time Mathematics faculty position at Cosumnes River College. The faculty member will teach a range of mathematics courses and contribute to articulation and curriculum development while supporting diverse student populations.

Candidates should demonstrate equity-minded teaching, ongoing professional development, and active participation in college governance and department activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s in mathematics or applied mathematics; or bachelor’s in math and master’s in stats/physics/math ed; or equivalent.
• Equity-minded focus and ability to foster an inclusive educational and employment environment.
• Degrees must be from an accredited institution and completed by January 4, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
• Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content.
• Assess student learning outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
• Engage in continuing professional development.
• Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties.
• Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
• Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.

Education

Master’s in mathematics or applied mathematics

Bachelor’s in mathematics or applied mathematics and Master’s in statistics, physics or mathematics education

Equivalent degree as allowed by Equivalency Determination Process
