Job summary

North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) seeks an Instructor in the Mathematics Department at the Durham campus for a full-time, ten-month EHRA faculty position (1.0 FTE). The incumbent will teach assigned courses and contribute to NCSSM's residential high school program, online offerings, and January term courses as part of a dynamic, statewide educational community.

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Prior teaching experience in Precalculus or higher
• Provide proof of degree conferral by hire date
• Final candidates undergo background checks

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop an instructional program that helps students assimilate course content and skills
• Develop and communicate clear course objectives and goals
• Hold at least three office hours per week and conduct tutorial sessions
• Grade and provide timely feedback and submit grade reports with comments
• Engage in academic advising, meetings, and service to the department and school
