Job summary

Eielson AFB, AK area is hosting a Direct Hire opportunity for a Mathematics professional at GS-11 to GS-15 levels. Positions may be located at Eielson AFB and other listed installations nationwide. Duties include planning and executing mathematical analyses and supporting project work across multiple locations.

Salary ranges from $63,795 to $164,301 per year with a Secret clearance. Open to the public; various locations in the U.S. Army and Space-related bases.

Qualifications

• Degree in mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.
• Combination of education and experience as described in the qualifications.
• Specialized experience requirements vary by GS level (GS-11 to GS-15).

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out the collection and analysis of information, data and standards used by the assigned organization to perform mathematics tasks.
• Carry out special projects designed to facilitate the full use of the interns training and development.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to maintain current in the field and for application to work assignments.
• Perform scientific work in the field of mathematics in support of conventional projects, or portions of larger projects and programs under the guidance of a senior mathematician or scientist.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Degree : mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.

OR

Combination of education and experience – courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below.

4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications.
