Job summary

Grade Potential Tutoring in Seattle is seeking an in-person tutor to support a 7th grade student in Algebra 1. Sessions are 1 hour, 1–2 times per week, at the family’s home. You will tailor lessons to close knowledge gaps and help the student reach grade-level goals using your own materials and methods.

Ideal candidates have tutoring experience, can travel within 5–10 miles, and are not minors due to insurance requirements. Flexible scheduling and independence in session planning are valued.

About the student

• 7th grade student seeking tutoring for Algebra 1.
• The student is doing fairly well in her classes, but often misses school due to health issues. This has resulted in her missing out on some of the concepts that have been covered throughout the year.
• The student's goal is to perform at or above grade level and feel confident in her skills.
• The student is seeking 1-hour sessions 1-2 times per week during her availability: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm.
• The student is seeking a tutor who can meet for sessions at her family's home in Seattle.

Requirements

REQUIRED

• You have experience teaching/tutoring.
• You are willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles).
• Due to insurance requirements, applicant must not be a minor.

PREFERRED

• You have a teaching certification.
• $25 - $30 per hour
