Job summary

Grade Potential Tutoring seeks an in-person tutor for a 6th-grade student in Sammamish, WA. You will conduct 1-hour sessions, 2 times weekly, focusing on reading, writing, and math, with travel to the student’s home near Discovery Elementary School. The family requests flexible evenings or weekend mornings.

Requirements include tutoring experience and being an adult (not a minor). A teaching certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring.
• Willing to travel within 5–10 miles to meet the student.
• Must not be a minor due to insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-hour tutoring sessions, 2 times per week, for reading, writing, and math.
• Meet the student at their home in Sammamish near Discovery Elementary School.
• Assess progress and tailor lessons to build math, reading, and writing skills.

About the student

• The student is a6th grader attending Pine Lake Middle school looking for help with reading,writing, and math. She is not currently struggling with math as much but wantshelp with both ELA and math. The family will likely want to do one session aweek for each subject. She does best with positive reinforcement andencouragement.
  
• The goals are for the student to build her skills with math, reading and writing as well as build her confidence.
  
• The family wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week either between 4pm-8pm any day Monday through Friday or between 9am-12pm on Saturday or Sunday.
  
• The familywants to meet in-person with the tutor at their home in Sammamish near Discovery Elementary School.
  

Requirements

REQUIRED

• You have experience teaching/tutoring.
• You are willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles).
• Due to insurance requirements, applicant must not be a minor.
  
• Tutor is available for 1 hour sessions 2 times a week either between 4pm-8pm any day Monday through Friday or between 9am-12pm on Saturday or Sunday.
