Job summary

Huntington Learning Center is seeking tutors to motivate and support students after a paid training period. You will deliver individualized programs, focusing on skill development, homework help, and test prep in a 1-to-1 or small-group setting.

Flexibility is key: part-time hours include weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays, with training provided. A 4-year degree and ability to teach geometry/algebra 2 are required, with science topics valued to broaden tutoring scope.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree from an accredited university is required.
• Able to teach geometry and algebra 2; statistics, trig, and calculus desired.
• Science topics (Earth/Life Sciences, Physics, Biology, Chemistry) are appreciated.
• Caring, qualified professional dedicated to helping students learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in a 1-to-1 setting or small group sessions (up to 4).
• Deliver instruction after paid training with provided curriculum.
• Concentrate on skill development, homework help, subject tutoring, and test prep.
• Maintain flexible part-time hours: weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.

Huntington Learning Center has been helping students achieve their academic goals for more than 45 years. We are looking for talented professionals who will help students build self-confidence, grow motivation, and attain academic success. Our programs support students with getting back to grade level, reaching their goal test scores, and moving to the front of the class academically.

After a paid training period, you will spend your time teaching and making a difference in children’s lives. We provide the curriculum and develop individualized programs for each student.

The Opportunity

• Work with students in a 1-to-1 setting, or across a small group of up to 4.
• Focus on skill development, homework help, subject tutoring, and ACT/SAT test prep.
• There are no lesson plans to write or homework assignments to grade!
• Flexible, part-time hours - weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.
• Paid training and professional development opportunities.

Hours

• Teaching takes place Monday-Thursday 1-8:30pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm.

Requirements

• A 4-year degree from an accredited university/college is required.
• Must be able to teach at minimum Geometry/Algebra 2 (Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus highly desired).
• We also appreciate science expertise such as Earth/Life Sciences, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
• Must be a caring and qualified professional dedicated to helping students learn and grow.
