Job summary

AoPS Academy in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Math Teaching Assistant to support instructors with AoPS curriculum, work one-on-one with students, and help maintain an engaging, orderly classroom environment. Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Ability to help advanced concepts.
• Experience with/interest in younger students preferred.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.
• Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Familiarity with AoPS curriculum is a plus.
• Prior teaching experience or education coursework not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Instruction: Assist instructors with curriculum and materials for advanced students.
• Student Support: Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide extra help as needed.
• Classroom Management: Help maintain an organized learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
• Assignment Support: Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
• Build Relationships: Connect with students and staff to encourage learning and growth.
• Foster Learning: Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and curiosity.
