Job description

Join Sumner Memorial High School, located in picturesque Sullivan, Maine. Set amidst serene beauty, our learning campus is just a short 15-minute drive east of Ellsworth, and a scenic 40 miles from bustling Bangor. Notably close to Bar Harbor and the stunning Acadia National Park.

We are seeking a team-oriented, energetic, and creative educator to teach Mathematics at Sumner Memorial High School. Applicants must hold or be able to obtain a Maine Teacher Certification (300S: Mathematics 7-12) with a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.

• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success and well-being.
• Integrate technology effectively into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in math education and the teaching profession.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification for high school math (300S: Mathematics 7-12)
• Experience with PBIS preferred
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: Placement within the salary range is based on education and relevant experience.

• Bachelor's Degree: $50,000 to $69,425
• Master's Degree: $52,500 to $73,500
• CAS/Ed.D.: $55,500 to $78,075
