Job description

Job Title: High School Mathematics Teacher 2026-27

Date Available: Immediately

Description: Scarborough High School is looking for a Math teacher to join its twelve member department.

The ideal candidate will be a learner and collaborator who will work with colleagues to review and revise curriculum and assessments, and who consistently designs and delivers effective and dynamic instruction. The candidate will also be knowledgeable about state and national Math standards and have a deep understanding of best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment. Faculty and department meetings occur monthly, as do Professional Learning Team Meetings and participation in IEP and 504 meetings is required.

The schedule includes Geometry & Algebra II courses.

SHS has a block schedule with 75 minute classes (four blocks per day) with two classes plus a duty on one day, three classes on the other. In addition, there is an academic support period of 35 minutes every day with an Advisory program held during that time twice a month.

Salary Range: View the applicable collective bargaining agreement for salary schedules, compensation, and related employment terms.

Professional Staff Contract

Qualifications
  • ME DOE Teacher Certification for Secondary Mathematics
  • CHRC
  • Experience teaching at the high school level is preferred.
