Job summary

Discovery Ranch seeks a dedicated Secondary Math Teacher to join our residential program for boys aged 13-18. Provide quality math education in a therapeutic setting, designing lessons for diverse learners and using engaging methods. Collaborate with staff to align academics with our experiential therapies and support student growth.

The role is part-time, Monday–Thursday, 3:30–8:30 pm, offering $20–$25 per hour DOE and Utah teaching certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field.
• Valid Utah teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics.
• Experience teaching secondary math.
• Knowledge of current teaching strategies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to students and colleagues.
• Ability to explain complex math clearly.
• Passion for working with adolescents and growth.

Responsibilities

• Teach secondary math classes, including Algebra and Geometry, to grades 7-12.
• Design and implement lesson plans for individual needs.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students.

Job description

Discovery Ranch, a residential treatment center for boys ages 13-18, is seeking a dedicated Secondary Math Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities

• Teach secondary math classes, including Algebra, Geometry, and other basic/advance math, to students in grades 7-12.
• Design and implement lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and abilities of our students.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
• Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement an integrated curriculum.
• Provide individualized support and instruction to students who may be struggling academically.
• Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student success and well-being.

Part-time | Monday-Thursday | 3:30-8:30 pm | $20-25/hour DOE

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.

• Previous experience teaching secondary math.

• Knowledge of current teaching strategies and best practices in mathematics education.
