SASI Schools in Shiprock, NM is hiring a qualified secondary education teacher. The successful candidate will hold NM licensure and teach in a Tribally Controlled school on the Navajo Nation, following Beyond Textbooks curriculum.
Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction to 7-12 grade students, meeting NM PED standards, and maintaining certifications such as First Aid/CPR/AED. Navajo preference applies in employment decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Secondary (7-12th grade) Education, or related field, from accredited college or university.
Valid New Mexico Teacher Licensure, with endorsement(s) as applicable.
Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) endorsement preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of New Mexico PED Academic Standards required.
Must have or obtain -
Bilingual in Dine & English preferred.
Must be able to meet minimum physical requirements: sitting, standing, lifting, carrying (up to 50 lbs), reaching, squatting, kneeling, or moving light furniture may be required.
Must have valid state-issued driver's license.
**MUST be able to pass background checks for New Mexico state, Navajo Nation, and FBI.
SASI schools currently utilize Beyond Textbooks curriculum framework.
SASI is a Tribally Controlled school under the Bureau of Indian Education location on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, NM
