Job summary

St. John's University in Queens seeks a part-time Math Teacher to deliver instruction for pre-algebra, algebra and geometry within the Liberty Partnerships Program, supporting high school students who pursue college readiness.

The role requires a Master's in Education, NYS certification or college teaching experience, and at least three years of teaching at secondary or collegiate level. Hours are Saturdays, 10:00 am–1:00 pm, with some hybrid options; salary is $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education is required.
• State certification or college teaching experience is preferred.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience at the secondary or collegiate level.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in mathematics (pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry).
• Collaborate with High School Liaisons and/or school personnel to design academic interventions for students.
• Assist in coordinating tutorial services; conducting tutorial training; and supervising tutorial staff.
• Exhibit great classroom management skills that enable learning for all students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director.
