The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to prepare students for college, careers, and life pursuits, and to inspire them to be champions of equity. We currently serve over 2,000 students and operate seven schools in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.

A Day in Your Life as an Equitas Teacher:
- Lead rigorous Mathematics instruction using our curriculum: Leap/Achievement First
- Deliver instructional materials prepared based on our curriculum
- Communicate and collaborate with families regarding student behavior and academic progress
- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations
- Demonstrate a warm demander approach with scholars
- Build and repair classroom community using culturally responsive and restorative practices
- Start your day by 7:15am with a team huddle and end at 3:30pm after dismissal
- Enjoy daily prep time and a duty-free lunch
- Participate in weekly grade-level team meetings
- Engage in regular one-on-one feedback sessions with your coach or supervisor
- Supervise and facilitate parts of Community Meeting weekly on Fridays
- Attend scheduled IEP, SST, and 504 meetings
- Participate in weekly professional development to improve school culture and academics
- Perform additional duties to support students and the community
What You'll Need:
- A Bachelor's degree
- A current Single Subject Math or Multiple Subject teaching credential (internship, preliminary, or clear) or out-of-state equivalent
- English Learner authorization
- A strong belief that all students can succeed
- Experience working with students in low-income communities (preferred)
