Algiers Charter is seeking a dedicated Teacher to deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction in a positive, inclusive classroom. The role emphasizes student academic growth and social-emotional development through engaging lessons and ongoing assessment.

The teacher designs lessons aligned with state standards, collaborates with families and colleagues, maintains records, and supports a safe learning environment while fostering critical thinking and a love of learning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum, and classroom management.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Monitor and assess student performance through formal and informal assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students meet learning goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
• Participate in school-wide activities, professional development, and grade-level or subject-area team meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
• Foster a growth mindset, critical thinking, and a love of learning in students.
• Performs other duties that may be required.
