Job summary

Algiers Charter School is seeking a dedicated Teacher to provide high-quality, standards-based instruction in a collaborative school community. The role emphasizes positive classroom culture and support for student academic and social-emotional growth.

The teacher designs engaging lessons, assesses progress, and partners with families and school leadership to ensure student success within a 10-month work period and Exempt status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching certification/license in the applicable subject area and grade level.
• Knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum, and classroom management.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Monitor and assess student performance through formal and informal assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students meet learning goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
• Participate in school-wide activities, professional development, and grade-level or subject-area team meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
• Foster a growth mindset, critical thinking, and a love of learning in students.
• Performs other duties that may be required.
