Job summary

Science Academies of New York seeks a Math Teacher for Grade 6 at the Utica Academy of Science Charter School for the 2026/27 academic year. NYS certification is required and experience in diverse urban settings is a plus. Excellent benefits and ongoing professional development are offered.

We value dynamic, collaborative educators who engage students with data-informed instruction and strong classroom management. New York State certification is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• NYS certification required.
• Experience with a diverse urban student population is a plus.
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.
• Novice teachers encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

SANY is announcing the hiring for a Math Teacher (Grade 6) at the Utica Academy of Science Charter School Junior-Senior High School (JSHS) for 2026/27 School Year!

The JSHS is located at 160 School Ln., Frankfort, NY, 13340. We are looking for dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. We have an excellent environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply! New York State Certification is required.

We need Teachers who will:

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum
• Collaborate with staff to determine the charter's requirement for the instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Be ready to prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area
• Have excellent content knowledge and pedagogy
• Welcome the use of analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning
• Appreciate regular feedback, accountability, and the rewards that come with doing a great job serving our students & communities
• Have great classroom management

What you need

Qualifications:
