Location: Mi Escuela Montessori | Polk County, FL

Term: 10.5 Months (Includes 5 days post-school year and 5 days pre-teacher return)

About the Role

As we expand into our new facility for the 2026-2027 school year, Mi Escuela Montessori is seeking an expert Instructional Coach: Math & STEM.

We believe that the Montessori method is the original "hands‑on" STEM curriculum. We are looking for a leader who can ensure our students master abstract mathematical operations and scientific inquiry with confidence and precision. You will serve as a "Practitioner‑Leader": providing direct Tier 3 math interventions for students while coaching and mentoring faculty in the precise use of Montessori materials to bridge the gap between concrete manipulation and abstract mathematical reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Intervention (The Practitioner)

• Tier 3 Support: Deliver intensive, evidence-based math interventions to small groups of students, focusing on numeracy, operational fluency, and abstract logic.
• Student Growth: Analyze student work and assessment data to close achievement gaps, ensuring every student meets or exceeds grade-level expectations.

2. Instructional Coaching (The Mentor)

• Clinical Observation: Conduct regular classroom observations and provide teachers with direct, constructive feedback on material presentations and STEM integration.
• Accountability: Lead the math component of the MTSS process, ensuring Tier 2 math interventions are high‑fidelity, data‑driven, and properly documented.
• Conflict Management: Address pedagogical challenges and staffing conflicts with a solution‑oriented, professional approach.

3. Leadership & Lab School Integration (The Strategist)

• Extended Calendar: Use the 10.5-month term to conduct year‑end data audits (post‑year) and design STEM/Math workshops for "Launch Week" (pre‑year).
• STEM Alignment: Oversee the integration of the "Five Great Lessons" with Florida state science standards to ensure students are prepared for high‑level inquiry and state assessments.

Qualifications

Required

• Classroom Experience: A minimum of 3 years of successful Montessori classroom experience.
• Montessori Training: MACTE-accredited Elementary Montessori training (6–9 or 6–12).
• Certification: Florida Professional Educator Certificate (Elementary Education or Middle Grades Math/Science).
• Interpersonal Skill: Proven ability to manage conflict and deliver direct, actionable feedback to adult learners.

• Bilingualism: Proficiency in Spanish to support our dual‑language environment.
• Specialization: Experience in "Science of Math" or structured STEM inquiry models.
