Job summary

Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk, CT, seeks a Mathematics Instructional Coach to lead student-centered math instruction and coach teachers within the district curriculum. The role supports school leaders, teachers, and teams to address diverse learners through high-quality instruction and progress monitoring.

The position requires a lifelong learner with expertise in problem-based curricula and professional learning for adults.

Qualifications

• Connecticut Professional Educator License with endorsements.
• Master's Degree required.
• Five years minimum of exemplary teaching across at least two grade levels.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Experience as a Mathematics Coach or Teacher Leader preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide job-embedded professional development and coaching to implement the district's mathematics curriculum.
• Be active on the Instructional Leadership Team to support School Improvement Plan goals.
• Support diverse learners, including Multilingual Learners and students with disabilities, in accessing core content.
• Review student data to identify needs and inform instructional adjustments.
• Apply adult learning principles in coaching, modeling, and facilitating inter-visitations.
• Build strong relationships with teachers and paraprofessionals and collaborate with families.
• Create articulated schedules in collaboration with school leaders.
• Design and facilitate Mathematics workshops for families.
