Job summary

Northampton County Schools Gaston STEM Leadership Academy in Gaston, North Carolina is seeking an Instructional Coach to strengthen the district's math instruction and alignment with state standards.

You will lead math-focused professional development, design and evaluate staff development with other leaders, coach teachers, build data-driven improvement plans, and support principals in improving instructional practice.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with emphasis on the area of specialty, curriculum, or administration.
• Proven record of excellence as a classroom teacher with predictive characteristics of an outstanding administrator.
• Experience as a presenter in staff development programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional development for math teachers.
• Designs, implements and evaluates school and district staff development in concert with other school leaders.
• Assists the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Beginning Teacher Coordinator in developing and coaching new teachers.
• Works with staff to develop data profiles and to analyze data for instructional improvement.
• Provides feedback to teachers and staff regarding implementation issues.
• Serves as coach to improve math instruction and supports differentiated instruction.
