Job summary

Platt College Los Angeles is seeking a General Education (GE) Instructor to deliver quality instruction across certificate and degree programs. The role requires maintaining a structured classroom aligned with course objectives and workplace expectations for adult learners.

The position is adjunct, hourly, non-exempt, with a compensation range of $30.00–$37.50 per hour. A Master’s degree or higher and related subject credits are required, with prior GE teaching experience preferred.

The General Education (GE) Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students that meet the program and course objectives. The GE Instructor should maintain an organized, disciplined classroom environment that is conducive to learning and imparts the requirements of the relevant workplace setting to existing students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of education environments including needs of adult learners
• Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment

Credentials and Experience:

• Master’s Degree required or higher
• A minimum of two years’ experience in field of instruction for GE classes preferred
• Minimum of 15 semester credit hours/23 quarter credit hours in a related subject area that supports the General Education curriculum content

Employment Status: Adjunct, hourly, non-exempt.

• Adjunct faculty hours are determined by the scheduled courses in a particular module. Adjunct faculty are scheduled as needed with no guarantee of hours at any time and scheduled hours are generally under 25 per week.

Foreign Transcripts: Transcripts issued outside the United States require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA
