Job summary

New Trier is seeking a dynamic, progressive leader to be the Mathematics Department Chair at the Winnetka Campus, supervising approximately 30 math faculty and collaborating on curriculum development across the department.

The role requires IL PEL with administrative endorsement, five years of secondary math teaching experience, and a Master’s degree in math or education. Leadership includes working with campus leadership and district strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires IL Professional Educator License with administrative endorsement.
• Must be able to become IL State Board of Education Qualified Evaluator.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a secondary math teacher.
• Master's or advanced degree in math or education; knowledge of math curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department in implementing the district’s strategic plan and goals.
• Supervise approximately 30 math faculty and collaborate on curriculum development.
• Engage in staff development and professional practice to improve teaching.
