Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to create and review math assessment content for state and district clients. You will work as both content and assessment expert on the Asset Creation team, focusing on standards-based items and AI-assisted content enhancement.

You will coordinate with educators, psychometricians, and managers to ensure alignment to standards, accessibility, and quality, while leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and item quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred.
• General knowledge of all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.
• Skill in basic software tools and technology and the confidence to work with unfamiliar programs.
• Demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they evolve.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items, across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, and test blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Help select, assign, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Facilitate and support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate activities related to test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and AI.
