Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking an Unit Assistant-1 to provide compassionate patient care to mother-baby pairs under the supervision of registered nurses. The role includes direct patient care, assistance with activities of daily living, documentation, and coordination with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities also include preparing the surgical suite for cesarean births, supporting the SST and circulating RN, and handling administrative tasks such as record-keeping,

Qualifications

• High school level education required.
• Previous nursing assistant program or nursing student/graduates preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort under RN supervision.
• Assist with ambulation, turning patients and promoting comfort.
• Prepare surgical suite prior to cesarean births and support SST and circulating RN.
• Maintain medical records, transcribe orders, answer phones, and relay messages.
• May assist with follow-up appointments, ordering Durable Medical Equipment, data entry, provider charges, supply ordering, and insurance follow-up by phone/fax.
