Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center seeks a Unit Aide for the OB department to provide compassionate, patient-centered care under RN supervision. You will assist with basic tasks, support the mother-baby pair, and help maintain records and communication with the care team.

Ideal candidates have a nursing assistant background, are comfortable in a maternity/medical-surgical setting, and can obtain BLS within 3 months. Night shifts and long hours reflect the demanding schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing student or graduate from a nursing assistant program.
• Preferred: maternity and/or medical-surgical experience.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ambulation of patients, turning, and promoting comfort.
• Prepare surgical suite prior to cesarean births and support RN staff.
• Maintain medical records, transcribe orders, answer telephones and take messages.
• Assist with follow-up appointments, order DME, data entry, charges, supplies, and insurance follow up.
