Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks a Per Diem RN for the Postpartum/Maternity unit, which supports postpartum, newborn, antepartum and gynecology patients. The role emphasizes compassionate nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.

You will educate parents, monitor mothers and babies, and contribute to quality improvement while communicating clearly with the care team and families. Shifts are rotating, andCT licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Connecticut.
• BLS CPR certification; ACLS preferred.
• Two years' maternity/acute care nursing experience preferred for per diem.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and educate parents on feeding, bathing, and sleeping, and breastfeeding.
• Monitor mothers and newborns for signs of illness or complications.
• Contribute to quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques.
• Communicate effectively with admin, colleagues, patients and families.
• Educate patients and families to ensure a transparent understanding of the care.
