Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Maternity unit on a per diem night shift. The RN will provide direct patient care, document progress, and collaborate with the care team to support newborns and their families.

The position requires an RN license in Delaware, ASN or BSN, BLS, and a willingness to obtain NRP within 6 months. Prior maternity experience is preferred, with flexible scheduling available.

Qualifications

• ASN required.
• BSN preferred.
• Active RN License in Delaware.
• Maternity experience preferred; open to other nursing backgrounds.
• BLS required; NRP certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Performs a comprehensive assessment of the neonate.
• Understands newborn transitional care incl. thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, respiratory status.
• Plans and delivers care to the newborn with complications.
• Documents patient data and care plans accurately.
• Gives parents written and verbal instructions for follow-up care.
• Initiates care plans and clinical pathways for admitted patients.
• Maintains proper charting and handoffs to the care team.
