Job summary

BMC Health System is seeking a Maternity Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care from infant to elderly in Labor & Delivery. The role requires skilled assessment, patient teaching, and coordination of care, including perioperative duties as needed.

This position features a 24-hour schedule with 3p-11p shifts and every other weekend, focusing on safety, patient advocacy, and collaboration with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes in a dynamic obstetric setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
• Experience: Previous RN experience required, labor & delivery experience preferred.
• Certifications/Licensure: Current RN MA license, BLS, ACLS, and NRP required.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided to individuals and groups.
• Maintains competency in Labor & Delivery procedures and sterile field management.
• Delegates nursing activities appropriately while bearing responsibility for patient outcomes.
