Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Tampa, FL seeks a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to support students with communication needs in Hillsborough County Public Schools. This maternity-leave coverage role requires delivering assessments, planning interventions, and collaborating with educators.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (if applicable).
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable).
  • CCC-SLP from ASHA (or CF).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well‑being in the school environment.

Additional Details

This is a great opportunity for an SLP looking to try working in the school system or wanted to get back into full-time work without the commitment.

Full-time: Mabry Elementary School: November 30-Early April 2027

Full-time: Roland Park 3.5 days; Jefferson 1.5 days: November to End of Year

Full-time: Lennard High: Dec. 7 to March 15 2027

Number of Hires: 3 Maternity Leave Coverage SLPs needed

Responsibilities

Qualifications
