Job summary

The Sampson County Government invites applications for a Public Health Nurse II to coordinate maternal health services and support the delivery of maternity care. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
• Individuals employed in a local Health Department without a B.S. Degree which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation or a master’s in public health, must complete required course within one year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maternal health services and interventions to reduce maternal and infant mortality.
• Provide daily supervision of maternity clinic staff and ensure compliance with state policies.
• Ensure equitable access to maternity care services for all clients and support care in general clinic when needed.
