Job summary

Riverside University Health System – Public Health is seeking a Health Education Assistant II to support community and patient health education programs, focusing on pregnant and postpartum African American women in Riverside County.

The role includes case management, occasional home visits, assessments, documentation, and collaboration with medical providers and external partners to sustain the Birth Equity Initiative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in community health education or related field.
• One year of experience as Health Education Assistant I.
• Knowledge of health education principles and dissemination to the public.
• Ability to prepare educational materials and deliver effective presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assess community health education needs and participate in planning, development, and evaluation of programs.
• Assist in building coalitions and partnerships with community resources and leaders.
• Plan, conduct, and assist in workshops and seminars to promote health education programs.
• Organize and conduct educational sessions on health and nutrition topics for schools, groups, and agencies.
• Prepare bulletins, reports, and educational materials; manage media contacts.
• Prepare exhibits and displays for meetings and public events; assist in community health projects.
• Support appointment scheduling and patient/participant flow.
• Provide health and nutrition education to individuals based on assessed needs.
