Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking a technician to assist engineers in performing materials testing across soil, asphalt, aggregate, concrete, and field operations in the District 04 Laboratory.

You will enter and retrieve data using MATT or SM Materials, coordinate with engineers to verify project finals and sampling plans, and assist with drill rig operations and roadway cores while attending required trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering or related field.
• Able to operate and maintain lab/testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in daily materials testing across lab sections (soil, asphalt, aggregate, concrete, field operations).
• Enter and recall testing results in the specified computer programs.
• Assist with field activities such as drill rig operations and roadway core collection.
• Coordinate with Project/Area Engineer offices to verify finals and sampling plans.
• Attend training and provide guidance to less experienced staff and other duties as assigned.
