Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist engineers in materials testing across soil, asphalt, aggregate, and concrete in the District 04 Lab. You will operate and maintain lab equipment, enter data in MATT or SM Materials, and support field activities such as drill rigs and roadway core collection.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering or heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to perform testing across multiple lab sections and operate lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in daily materials testing across lab sections.
• Enter testing reports into MATT or SM Materials.
• Coordinate with Project/Area Engineers and assist field activities.
• Provide training to less experienced staff.
