Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. The role involves lab testing of soils, density assessments, and field sampling of concrete, with travel within approximately two hours of the city.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 0–2 years of related experience, and relevant ICC/ACI certifications. Valid driver's license, reliability, and ability to work outdoors under varying conditions are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC masonry, and ICC reinforcing steel.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Reliability – must arrive at project sites on time.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and have satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils.
• Perform density testing of soils.
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab.
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data.
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
• Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities.
