Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. You will perform soil classification, density testing, and concrete testing in field and lab environments.

The role requires 0-2 years of related experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. You must be able to travel up to two hours from the city and pass safety screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of related experience preferred.
• Certifications may include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Reliability – must arrive prior to scheduled times.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and driving record per policy

Responsibilities

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils.
• Perform density testing of soils.
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab.
• Analyze testing data for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
• Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and prioritization.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software and tools.
• Uphold workplace safety and policies.
