Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. You will perform soils testing, density testing, and field/lab concrete sampling with travel within 2 hours of the city.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience on complex projects, and relevant ICC/ACI certifications; valid driver's license; ability to lift 50 lbs; and a commitment to safety and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Reliability - must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils
• Perform density testing of soils
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
• Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
