Job summary

WHS in Lander, WY seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our AASHTO-accredited materials testing lab. You will oversee laboratory and field testing, manage technical staff, and ensure compliance with standards.

This role balances technical oversight, project coordination, client communication, and staff development, with emphasis on safety and quality. Travel to project sites as needed; strong client relations and report accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Construction materials testing experience including soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Project & Laboratory Oversight: Manage materials testing projects from assignment through final reporting.
• Coordinate laboratory and field testing schedules to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
• Ensure all testing is performed in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, FAA, and project-specific requirements.
• Monitor project scope, budgets, timelines, and staffing needs.
• Review and approve testing reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
