Job summary

WSB is offering an internship opportunity in Materials for Summer 2027. The program focuses on hands-on experience in field and laboratory testing across aggregate, soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.

interns will collect and document samples, assist with observations on active project sites, and learn to operate and calibrate testing equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a two-year technical degree or four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Interest in construction materials testing, geotechnical/transportation engineering, or construction services.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory testing of aggregate, soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Collect, prepare, and document material samples and test results per project requirements and industry standards.
• Support construction observation and inspection activities on active project sites.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment.
• Complete daily reports, field documentation, and other project records.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, contractors, and project teams to support project delivery.
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
